Cool lyrics: The obvious message is that being cool with your ex in general is a good thing. Resulting with a friendship at the end of a relationship allows each person to think the other is cool. What the song is really trying to say is that getting over an obstacle and it being all right in the end will allow you to be cool in several ways.

Cool is something that attracts me to what I'm interested in, what I like, what I'm into. And it's what kinda distinguishes people from one another so cool to me is me myself, my mind, my thoughts everything that me me myself!
